Land sits an average of 3 feet above sea level. The glasshouse was erected with a high knee wall anticipating the potential of hurricanes and flooding in this area, we just did not know it will be put to test so soon.
August 2011, Hurricane Irene put the house under 4.5 feet of water, 1/2 way above the straight glass sides. The house fare well, the plants inside did not.
Since that event I’m working on a all hanging plants theme. Hope the water will not get much higher next time.
