Additional Information: purchased from American Meadows. 1 lb. seed. Seeds grown at Mooring Hitch fro later transport & planting at Stonehenge.

BLOOMS: The flowers are olive-purple, maturing to a grayish color, and are quite delicate and move in the slightest breeze.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: seeds do not produce the same variety. Propagate by division of roots.

KEY FEATURES: Foliage turns a beautiful bronze-red color after a freeze. Leaf height is rarely above 12 inches. The seed heads are open panicles, reaching a height of 30 to 40 inches and containing numerous small, fine seeds.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Stonehenge

    Planted a “small pinch” of seeds in 2”x2” pots (240 cells). Left inside glasshouse to sprout and protect from birds eating seed.
-Out of glasshouse at 3 weeks in full sun.
-May 2014: transfer to 4”pots. Growing very fast.
-June 2014: planted in backyard (143 plants) + (26 plants)......

This ornamental grass has many long, narrow leaves emerging from a tight tuft, with the tips almost touching the ground. The drooping leaf characteristic gives rise to the name “weeping” lovegrass. Features dark green, fine textured, almost hair-like foliage that forms dense clumps.

This ornamental grass is extensively on the  grounds of  NC Museum of Art /Raleigh.
