Genus comprises about 60 species in the Asia tropics from southern India to New Guinea and the Philippines. Known as “Lady’s slippers” due to of their pouch like lips.  All Paph. have flowers of a similar plan. Lacking pseudobulbs, they prefer a moisture-retaining epiphytic compost and medium light levels.

Plant without label. I choose to call it “Grayson 3” in honor of my grandson that turns 3 yrs. old today

LIGHT: filtered light, low to medium. Intermediate to warm temperature.

WATER: moist well, drained, do not allow to dry completely.

SOIL: best potted in small fir bark
Re-pot once per year.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Solid green small leaves. Plant looks small as a miniature.

Plant purchased in 4” inch square pot with bark.
Keep in shade and moist at all times. Use weak strength fertilizer, less than other orchid varieties.
-January 2014: (1) 4” plastic pot.
-Dec. 2014- two beautiful blooms simultaneous. Plant has grown fast into multiple fans.
-Fall 2015: (1) un-open bloom rot due to excess moisture.
-Jan. 2016: part of plant has dry leaves, but, it has multiple new growth.
-Feb. 2017: (1) plastic sq. 4” , multile growth but no blooms.
