Doritaenopsis (Dtps.) are hybrids that exhibit all the desire trades of popular orchids, special durability of their blooms and  many color combinations.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 6 inches x 6 inches 
PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: filtered light, only.

WATER: moist but well  drained, 
high humidity 60-70 %
SOIL: Pot in Orchid mix using plastic or ceramic pots. Clay pots retains to much salt and may dry too fast
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: 2 1/2 inch yellow with nice spotting. Waxy substance. Marking vary between among plants.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: solid green color leaves.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

25 plugs, about 4” leaf lenght plants, received bare root.
-Potted in 3.25x4” square clear plastic pot with Classic Orchiata & sponge rock (4:1 ratio)
-Oct 19, 2012 , 10 small tiny plants from the batch received, kept for 4 weeks in pots are now mounted on  18” long cedar plank with S. moss, one side only.
-January 2014:(14) 4” plastic pots, (3) 2” plastic pot. A total of (17) plants plus 4 severly damaged seedlings.
As plants grew roots I repotted in Medium Ceramic pot: 
(1) aqua blue (4 plants), (1) aqua blue (5 plants), (1) cream (5 plants), plus (4) seedlings in small aircone pots. (Total 14 plants + 4 seedling)
Jan. 2015. All doing well, most in spike.
Jan. 2016: (3) ceramic multiplants (12 plants total).
Feb. 2017: (1/3) ceramic/lt. blue/med., (1/3) ceramic/white/med, (2)AC 2”. Total of 8 plants in 4 containers.
July 2017: (2) small plants added to ceramic container.
Nov. 2017:(#756-1) 4 plants in ceramic/Lt. blue/medium, (#756-2) 4 plants in ceramic/white/medium. A total of 2 containers, 8 plants total.
Sept. 2024: Few changes due to plants condition.
     (#756-1) 4 plant - ceramic/Lt. blue/Med. repot with new Orchiata bark.
     (#756-2) 1 plant with 4 split plant forming - ceramics/ green/ med. round.
Total: 2 pots, 5 plants some with keikies.
