A native of India.

Collected before the turn of the last centry, 'Mooreana' is an excellent example of the type species. Easy to grow and a reliable bloomer. The mother plant is currently in bloom with 9 flowers.

TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: filtered light, only.

WATER: moist but well  drained, 
high humidity 60-70 %
SOIL: Pot in Orchid mix using plastic or ceramic pots. Clay pots retains to much salt and may dry too fast
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: yellow with maroon/brown spots on wavy pronounce hood, narrow petals with brown line markings.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Received “in Flask” quoted about 8 plants. Will keep seal for few more weeks.
-9/02/2012, potted (7)seedlings in 2.5” pot with damp moss wetted with diluted fertilizer.
--Jan. 2013 move several seedling into individual 2” pots with sm orchiata mix.
-January 2014: (3 seedlings)- (3) 2” plastic pot, a total of 3 plants left.Hope these ones make it, I am not ready to care for flask seedlings.
-Jan. 2015: (1 seedling) 2” clay pot with moss, no roots.
