Laelia tenebrosa, native to Brazil is a species related to Cattleya. It is a rather stunning plant with 6 to 7 inch flowers colored in a beautiful chestnut orange bronze with a violet purple lip. This species flowers in the summer to early fall.

LIGHT: filtered light. Medium to high

WATER: moist but well  drained, 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in Orchid bark mix or medium size bark
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: summer to early fall months with two to five 6 to 7 inch flowers colored in a striking chestnut orange-bronze with a deep violet-purple lip. The flowers are fragrant and last for 3 to 4 weeks. color with lavender lip.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.
