Gomesa is a genus of thirteen species found in central and southern Brazil. Characterized by the flattened, oblong pseudobulbs with two apical, rather soft leaves.

Crispa occurs in southern Brazil. The sepals and petals are green yellow, spreading with crisped margins, and with the apex curved inward. The lip is abruptly bent downward at the midpoint. The lateral sepals are united nearly to the apex.

Similar condition to cattleyas.
SOIL: Pot in Orchid bark mix. Does well in basket or slab.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: The flowers are small and delicate and short lived, about 1.25cm in diameter and are green edged with yellow. Fragrant.  Summer - Fall.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: It produces many aerial roots from the base of the pseudobulbs making it an ideal plant for growing on a bark slab or in a wooden basket.

Plant received in 2” pot with few long aerial roots. Re potted in 4” plastic pot with Orchid bark mix. May later mount on trellis.
Keep in medium light and moist similar to cattleyas.
