Endemic to the Philippines it is the largest-flowered species formerly included in the “catch all” P. lueddemanniana. The creamy white flowers are covered with ornate markings or “hieroglyphics”. It is a prolific bloomer and makes a substantial floral display.

As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: The 2-inch flowers creamy with reddish peculiar markings nearly resembling Egyptian hieroglyphs. The flowers open all at once and last for 2-3 months. Not fragrant. Summer season.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Plant received in 2” pot. Re-potted in 4” plastic pot with Phal. orchid barkmix.
Keep in low light and moist at all times.
Jan. 8, 2014: (1) 4” plastic pot. No much growth, some damage on leaves, I think I finally got it stable.
Jan. 2015: 2.5” aircone pot. Plant is doing well.
Jan. 2016: doing well. New roots and long leaves. 2.5” aircone pot.
Feb. 2017: (1) AC 2.5”, doing well.
Nov.4, 2023: Moved plant into Ceramic/medium/green pot- hanging. Plenty of roots. Doing well.
