Cactus-Mammillaria gracilis fragile

Cactus - Thimble

                                          ID#710

From central Mexico, Mammillaria gracilis is a beautifully readily clumping globular cover with spinescacti that can produce heads up to 4 inches high and 2 inches around. One of it's synonyms is Mammillaria fragilis, which is a good indication of how fragile this plant is. It offsets madly and the offsets are very loosely attached. It's nearly impossible to repot this plant without knocking off a few if not all of the offsets. They root fairly easily and the original plant will grow plenty of new ones.
