Bromeliads are unique, low-maintenance plants related to pineapples. They don't need much water and will grow happily in a low light environment. Their tough leaves are impervious to most insects. Plant flowers only once, send new “pups” which at maturity they will flower and repeat the patter.


Water thoroughly when soil is dry.

BLOOMS: white, insignificant on center. Plant flower only once and then produces offset plants.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Obtained on a 2” pot (4 0z.), plant has two pups. One fall during repotting
-Repot in clay pots to hang using Miracle grow cactus soil mix.
-Jan. 2013, move mother plant to a 6” clay pot. Two more smaller pots with single off shoot plants. Moved to a shade area, plants look as if sun burned.
