A Holiday present from my friend Paula Beattie. This bulb grew tall and bloomed with the New Year.

As with my previous amaryllis, this one will be planted in Bed #11 come spring.


I have a second one that has been very slow to emerge. I may convince my friend to keep it for herself as was originally plan.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 26”

PLANT TYPE: Bulb

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE:bold

LIGHT: filtered light to full sun outdoors

WATER: medium, well drain

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: 26” tall the blooms, set of 4 flowers are white with a very faint rim of red and a green throat. At least 2 stems when forced indoors.


FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A


KEY FEATURES: *Grown indoors for Holidays, they also make a fine addition to the garden outdoors returning blooms every year

    These bulbs were originally attempt to grow in water/rocks. Not a good idea, the roots started to rot. Rescued on time, one flowered later than expected, the second just emerging at this writing.

What NOT to do, roots grew well but started to rot!
