Only grown around here as a indoor house plant. It is the perfect plant to bring color into my Glasshouse.


A have great expectations for this small pot with two plants to grow fast and colorful.


The leaves are leathery and start out green and gradually change color as it matures.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 5-6 ft x 4 ft

PLANT TYPE: Evergreen  shrub - Tropical

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE:bold
LIGHT: part shade to full sun
WATER: keep moist, high humidity

SOIL: potting media with good aeration but not excessive drainage, will wilt rapidly if they are allowed to dry out.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: N/A


FRUIT  AND  SEED: Unique in that it is possible to root only the leaves. Rooted leaf will last 2-3 months. Propagates  easily from cuttings.


KEY FEATURES: grown for its colorful foliage. Waxy leaves.  Strong up right.Bright multi colors.

    Keep the light levels up. Cooler temperatures help produce better color.
Don’t over fertilize. This is what I read, so far I fertilize every 2 weeks, the Glasshouse keeps between 50F and 75F (when sunny). This plant has not change in the past 3 months. Waiting for Spring?
