Hemerocallis “Naturalizer”

Daylily “Naturalizer”

                                         ID#12

Additional Information: plants brought from our previous property :

“Noel Road Gardens”  (7534 Noel Road, Indianapolis, IN )

“Orange” daylilies as I call them grew at the edge of our property in a wooded lot in Indianapolis, IN. During our 10 yrs. there I became “the woman who planted Daylilies”. 1000’s of them frame our property, some of them made the trip to Mooring Hitch one spring vacation.

The plants require little or no care. They won’t flower in total shade. Tolerate drought and salt water floods.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

From 2000 to 2005 plants filled the space now called Daylily Collection, a nested area among pine trees with a stip angle close to the river’s edge.
With every storm high water washed away some of the soil, plants prevail.

In 2005 a retaining wall was built, the area filled with soil and daylilies of many cultivars added. The original “Naturalizer” dominates with many plants, all others only one specimen per cultivar.

Located also at Bed #7, nested among pine trees, dry soil and heavy roots they bloom just as well. They are competing for space with Rosa Rugosa plants.
