Oxalis and shamrocks

Oxalis is a small edible perennial with purple color/ tree petal trianglar leaves with white flowers at the top of foliage. Also know as wood sorrels or false shamrocks.


Shamrock is a low growing clover-like plant with tree-lobed leaves. The exact specie I do n ot know it as it was not indicated and there are various types of trifolium and also Oxalis with similar characteristics. Also a edible perennial plant.

WATER: medium. Drought tolerant once established.

SOIL: well drain.  3 parts  peat moss, 1 part sand sand and  1 part perlite. Also african violet soilk works well.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   orange and yellow flowers during summer.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  tubers.

KEY FEATURES:Grown for it’s sturdy and shine leaves. Easy to grow house plant.
