Ingredients

Preparation

French bread, sliced horizontally

3  tablespoons  whipping cream, or Half and Half

or

1  tablespoon   butter and 2 Tbs. milk

sugar to coat bread on top

1. Slice french bread horizontally and cut loaf/roll into about 3" long pieces.

2. Brush bread with cream to moist thoroughly. If cream is not available use milk and pieces of butter to spread through.

3. Sprinkle top heavily with sugar to coat.

4. Place bread slices on cookie.  Place cookie sheet about 6"  to 8" inches bellow broiler. Brown under broiler until sugar is melting and a crust starts to form, watch carefully, only take few minutes. Remove when edges start to brown.

 

Sugar Toast makes a great companion to a plate of fresh fruit for breakfast or afternoon snack.

NOTE: Works well with day old bread.
