Makes: 2 cups glaze. For about 16 buns
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Tips: Prepare ahead and refrigerate ready to use for several weeks. Warm before use.
Honey Glaze for Sticky Buns
Honey - Pecan buns
Ingredients
Preparation
4 ounces (1 stick) unsalted butter
10 ounces light brown sugar
3 Tablespoons (2 ounces) honey
1/4 cup (3 ounces) light corn syrup
2 Tablespoons water
1.Combine all ingredienrts in a heavy- bottomed saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the mixture just comes to boil.
2. Cool to thickens slightly before using.
3.Use about 1/8 cup of glaze per bun
4.Glaze will melt best when used in a metal or dark mold, and without a baking stone underneath. Using a pan that holds several buns vs individual ones, will result in softer buns with less crusty edges.
NOTE: 1) Use with your favorite cinnamon bun recipe.
