Makes 18 servings.

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup red raspberry jam
Glaze:
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 to 4 tsp hot water
Heat oven to 350 F degrees.
1. Mix, sugars, shortening, peanut butter and egg in large bowl.
2. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.
3. Reserve 1 cup dough. Press remaining dough in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Spread with jam.
4. Crumble reserved dough and sprinkle over jam. Dough will be kind of sticky.
5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
6. Prepare glaze by melting butte, add powdered sugar and vanilla. Add hot water 1 teaspoon at a time until smooth and of desired consistency. Drizzle on bars before cutting. Cut into desired size.
NOTES :1) To drizzle place glaze inside a plastic sandwich bag. Cut a small hole in one of the bags corner. Squeeze bag as you would a frosting bag. Or use a frosting bag and round hole tip.
