Tips: Cookies are very fragile, move carefully.

1/2 cup sugar
1 dash salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1. Heat oven to 375 F degrees. Grease cookie sheets.
2. In small bowl, beat sugar, salt, 1/2 cup butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in oats; mix well. Dough will be crumbly.
3. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets; flatten slightly.
4. Bake at 375 F degrees for 4 to 6 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool completely.
5. In small saucepan, melt chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons butter, stirring constantly until well blended. Using a double boiler method is easier and decreases change to overheat chocolate. Drizzle a small amount over each cookie. Refrigerate to set chocolate.
NOTES : Makes 3 dozen cookies.
