As observed in Eastern NC.

BLOOMS: showy, fragrant, white flowers, 3” diameter,  during May/June

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A

KEY FEATURES: Protect from frost in late winter. Usually undisturbed by deer, in this yard, deer have prune the bush during cold winter months.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Stonehenge

    Planted along the house in backyard. Temperature dropped to 9F degrees winter 2013-14, plants drop all their leaves and were previously prune by deer.
-Spring 2014 plants are just dry brown branches, no leaves. By June green leaves are back in outer branches and some new growth is shown at plant center. Spray plants and treated soil with deer repelent. Plan to cover plants to protect from frost in winter.

A native to southern China and Japan and is an evergreen shrub with thick, glossy, dark green leaves about 4” long.

This particular cultivar grows low to the ground most typical 3 ft max. Extremely fragrant white flowers. Typically bloom in late spring to early summer.
