FRUIT  AND  SEED: The female cones are barrel-shaped, 7–13 cm long and 5–9 cm broad, and disintegrate when mature, in 12 months to release the winged seeds. The male cones are 4–6 cm  long, and shed their pollen in autumn.

KEY FEATURES: A specimen tree that needs room to grow.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Stonehenge

    Planted about 8 ft. tall. The first winter deer nibble the lower branches new growth. 
-Spring 2014 I have since spray the tree with deer repellents and have placed Repellex tablets (June 6/14)in the soil to deter deer from eating the branches.

An excellent evergreen with graceful pendulous branches. Pyramidal form when young, wide-spreading and flat-topped in old age, often reaching 70' in height.
