Vandas & Asconcedas require the same conditions: bright light, high humidity, free hanging roots with plenty of water and air circulation. No medium around roots required.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: Compact PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen GROWTH RATE: Moderate TEXTURE: bold LIGHT: medium bright light, indirect. WATER: keep fairly moist, high humidity SOIL: open baskets. May use some loose bark to increase humidity in summer months.
As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS:Rose flowers suffused with coral & peppered with wine spots. Blooms 2x/year. FRUIT AND SEED: N/A KEY FEATURES: Keep roots moist and fertilize frequently during growing season.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch Plant arrived from Hawaii in 3” plastic basket with some orchiata mix. Jan. 2016: (1) 4” woodbasket. Water daily unless cloudy/rainy Feb. 2017: (1)WB 4” Dec. 2018: Plant DEAD.
