Vandas are native to Southeast Asia. Most varieties prefer bright light and warmth as well as a reasonable degree of humidity. These plants are known for their large flower size and vibrant colors.

Vandas grow on treetops on ridges along rivers and prefer bright light.

SOIL: open baskets. May use some loos bark to mantain humidity in summer months.

KEY FEATURES: Keep roots moist and fertilize frequently during growing season.

Plant arrived from Hawaii in 3” plastic basket with some orchiata mix.
Jan. 2016: (1) 4” woodbasket. Water daily unless cloudy/rainy
Feb. 2016: plant came in a 2.5” plastic pot with orchiata mix.
Feb. 2017: (#1) WB 4” & (#2)W4”, looks dead, will wait until spring to make sure.
