Previously known as Ascocentrum hendersonianum. It is found in Borneo and is a hot to warm growing, minature epiphyte at elevations of 500 to 800 meters in riverine, seasonally swampy forest. Miniature orchid within the Vanda group has beautiful Salmon-pink flowers with white lip.  Likes to be grown in well drained bark mix , or mounted.

BLOOMS:   flowers between spring and summer. Up to about 30 blooms 1-1.5 inches in diameter salmon-pink with white lip. Fragrant.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

KEY FEATURES: plant has no pseudobulbs. Long narrow leaves with a span of 6 inches. Requires frequent watering on a fast draining medium.

Plant arrived from Hawaii mounted in a 2”x4” tree fern board. 3 nice long aerial roots.
Mounted tree fern board in 6” wood frame for easy hanging.
Jan. 2015: (1) 6” wood frame with attached board, doing well. Water as often as vandas. Developing aerial roots.
Second plant mounted in back of same wood frame. Plant received with two small spikes developing and multiple aerial roots.
July 2015: all 3 plants in respective small fern tree boards hanging on glass feature.
January 2016: Only (2) plants/ (2) boards left, one perished.
May 2016: (3) plants in (3) small TF boards
March 2018: Only (1) plant left. Other two perished.
Jan. 2019: Last plant perished.
