Lava Burst intergenetic hybrid between: Howeara Mini-Primi x Rodriguezia lanceolata.

Plant is a compact variety with multiple bursts of flowers.

LIGHT: filtered light, medium. Most light tolerant of the species

WATER: moist, well drained.

BLOOMS:   Plant flowers twice a year, multiple sprays of deep red, long lasting flowers

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

KEY FEATURES: flowers remain for 2-3 months.

Plant arrived from Hawaii in a 3” clay pot in moss & Bark ?
Jan. 2015: remains in original pot and medium. Dislikes direct moisture and leaves wet, water from bottom, keep in shady area. Some leaf damage due to too much moisture.
First bloom open 4/08/15
Jan. 2016: (1)3” clay pot. Blooming all fall -winter
Feb. 2017: (1) clay 3”, in bloom now.
July 2018: (1) moved into 5” clay/short with ceramic beads. With skipes.
