A nothogenus comprising those intergeneric hybrids of orchids which have Brassavola, Cattleya, Laelia and Sophronitis as parent genera.


Compact plant of single leaf on pseudobulb.

Color: Crimson with Yellow center

HEIGHT X SPREAD: Compact/ tall leaf.

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: filtered light, medium. Most light tolerant of the species

WATER: moist, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in Orchiata mix.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   5 inch crimson intense red with a bright orange/yellow lip center. Spicy fragrance.
Blooms at least twice per year.


FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: flowers remain for 2-3 months and repeat frequently. Single leaf on pseudobulb.

Plant arrived from Hawaii in a 4” plastic pot in bark.
Jan. 2016: (1) 4” clay pot.
Feb. 2017: (#909-1) clay 4”/O
Oct. 2017:(#1) mounted on wood tree/ 2d. from the top.
Nov. 15, 2017: (#909-2) 4” plastic pot with bark, as received
Feb. 15, 2018: first two blooms open.
May 1, 2018: (#2) repotted into 5”/short clay pot with ceramic beads.
April 2019:(#1) removed from Wood tree and remounted on Cork branched tree/branch #4. Plant was not doing well in Wood tree, however it had few new roots growing, cork will be a better substrate for it. Aug. 2019 dead.
Jan.2023: (#2) plant rotted/ discarded.
