Hard cane den. tall strong canes with few large blooms.



Hybrid: T-4799

Color: Purple/ fushia with a darker lip and white coloration towards the center, like illumination.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: medium- Lg/ Tall

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: filtered light, medium. Most light tolerant of the species

WATER: moist, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in Orchiata mix with a slight angle for drainage of the crown.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   Large blooms purple/fushia with a draker tone lip and white coloration towards the center. Back of the 3 narrow petals are white making a stricking contrast. Few blooms on a cane from the top of cane.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

KEY FEATURES: Very tall cane with sparce alternating short leaves what weep down. Tall spike from the to of cane.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Plant arrived from Hawaii in a 4” plastic pot in bark. One tall spike with blooms forming, early stage.
Will re-pot in clay once it is done blooming. Very top heavy plant
Jan. 2015 Plant still in bloom since Aug. 2014, will re-pot when blooms fade.
Sept. 9, 2015 :(1) new mature plant in bloom, 4” plastic pot. A total of (2) plants.
January 2016:(1) 5” short/ rim, (1) 5” short. Total of (2) plants in (2) containers.
Feb. 2017:(1) clay 5” conical/short/rim, (1) clay 5”/short.
Aug. 2017:(#903)2 plants combined into (1)8” woodbasket. Plants have several keikes that I will harvest and mount them when enough roots to support them. Jan. 2019: Keikes did not survive.
