(A) came without tag. Identify help of Orchid Board as a Zygopetalum Hybrids.

GROWTH RATE: fast?
TEXTURE:medium
LIGHT: filtered light, high. Intermediate to warm temperature.
WATER: moist well, drained, do not allow to dry completely. Dip pot/bark 2-3/week in summer.
high humidity 60-70 %
SOIL: best potted in small fir bark or moss.
Unlike epiphytes, plants in this group will not grow ‘air roots’ and in order for the new roots to thrive, they must be in or directly on the growing medium.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: (A) Wine maroon color with a white edge on the lip. & blooms on a double stem from the bottom of side leaves.
(B) green and maroon petals with a fade appearance. Maroon/ pink lip with white edge.Very pronounce fragrance/perfume

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Free gift came  in 4” inch tall round pot with peat moss/mix. Sales person consider the plant in poor condition so it just gave it to me for free, I did not find it so. Upon inspection at home, the roots look good and the pseudobulb has a new growth starting.
-Potted in 4” sq. aircone pot with Medium size Orchiata mix.
-July 9th flowers open about 7 blooms.
-Jan. 2015: (A) 4” aircone pot, doing very well.
-Jan. 2016: doing well.
-May 2018: (B) AC 3.5” in S. moss, bloomed well. Replaced moss with orchiata mix and moved to 4” AC after blooming.
June, 2021: (B) DEAD, only Type (A) remains. (A) repotted/same Aug. 2021
2022: Plant (A) DEAD.
