Hybrid =Brassia, Cochlioda, Miltonia and Odontoglossum


The leaves are elongated and lanceolate. The flowers are numerous,  and last long, between 20 to 30 days. It has fleshy large pseudobulbs.

Huge variety of cultivars of different colors.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 30” to 34” height

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: medium filtered (50%)

WATER: let dry between water, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in fine bark media mix with high moisture retention.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   White flower with maroon spots and yellow center. Spikes carry 6 to 8 blooms in a alternated pattern along the spike. Flowers last about 3-4 weeks.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

KEY FEATURES: Double leaves at the top of pseudobulbs. Spike emerges from top of bulb between leaves.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Mature plant in bloom, 6” plastic pot with some bark? In Blooms with one spike fully open and one all blooms remain close. Will inspect potting material when plant finish blooming.
January 2014: (1) 6” plastic with shredded bark (as it arrived), still in boom. Re-pot after blooms fade.
Jan. 2015: (1)4” aircone pot with orchiata. Bulbs look a bit dried out. Will provide more water.
June 2015: a very hot spell with high humidity rotted this plant. I am getting better at caring for Onc. types, but not this one. Very similar to #875
