colmanara wildcat is a intergeneric hybrid between miltonia, odontoglossum and oncidium. it’s available in different blooming colors and sometimes sold as cambria.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 2-3 feet with spike

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: medium filtered (50%)

WATER: let dry between water, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in fine bark media mix with high moisture retention. Do well for me in 3.5” aircone pots and medium Orchiata.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   Stem emerging from the pseudobulb carries a tall spray of Redish brown & yellow flowers with a cream lower petal end.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: Flat/round pseudobulb with leaves emerging from the bottom in fan array in two sides. Single leaf  with center fold emerging at top of pseudobulb. Fine roots.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch
Obtained in 4” plastic pot with S. moss, plant exceeding pot size and very top heavy. In bloom with several spikes, towards the end of the spikes’ life.
-Re-pot in 5” aircone plastic pot with Orchiata mix. Water once per week, high afternoon/west light.
-January 2014: (1) 6” aircone pot.
(2/2014) Difference in color of lip on new flowers compared to last’s year,  possible due to different temperature, amount of sun in the season and maturity of flower.
Aug. 2014:New plant label as Colmanara “Wilcat #13”
-Jan. 2015:(1) 2.5” aircone,(1)3.5” aircone &(1) 4” aircone (#828-2). Total of 3 plants. 
Jan. 2016:(2) 3.5” aircone A type, (1)3.5”aircone  B type. All bloomed
-Feb. 2017: (1)AC 4” A type, (1) AC 2.5” B type.
