A classic compact yellow 'dancing lady' oncidium.The varietal 'Kalendar'

a reliable bloomer that is easy to grow.



HEIGHT X SPREAD: ?

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: Guessing medium filtered (50%)

WATER: let dry between water, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in fine bark media mix with high moisture retention.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   Spike with multiple blooms emerging from the pseudobulb base. Single flower is yellow with red/maroon markings, about 1 inch diameter.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: Round cylindrical pseudobulb with vertical ridges. Double leaves growing from top of pseudobulb. Fine roots.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Obtained in 4” plastic pot with bark and peat mixture, very soft and moist. Plant exceeds pot size. 
3/26/13 cleaned media and roots, place in 8” wooden basket with medium size Orchiata mix (4:1 Orchiata/sponge rock)
Spike with multiple flowers, first flower opened Aug. 5, 2013. Spike carries about a dozen flowers.
January 2014: (1) 8” wood basket.
Jan. 2015: (1) 4” aircone pot with orchiata. Poor condition, mostly shirvel pseudobulbs, one tiny shoot coming up.
Jan. 2016: dead.
