Plant without a name tag.

My best guess:

Oncidium Lemon Heart.

A hybrid between: Cyrtocidium Sum Lai Woh (Cyrtocidium is a bi-genric hybrid of Cyrtochilum and Oncidium both native to Central and South America) and Oncidium concolor registered in 1998 by Sato Orchids in Hawaii.

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: Guessing medium filtered (50%)

WATER: let dry between water, well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in fine bark media mix with high moisture retention.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   Yellow many of them. Two spikes with alternating branches carrying solid yellow blooms about 1.5” diameter.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: Round cylindrical pseudobulb with ridges. Double leaves growing from top of pseudobulb. Fine roots.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Obtained in 4” plastic pot with S. moss, plant exceeding pot size and very top heavy. Will re-pot soon.
January 2014: (1) 6” aircone pot with orchiata mix. Plant doing well. Water once/wk
Jan. 2015: (1) 5” aircone pot, doing well.
Bloom from lat summer to lat fall, lots of flowers. Doing well.
Jan. 2016: (1) 5” aircone pot.
Feb. 2017: (1) AC 5”, reliable bloomer doing well.
Feb. 21, 2017: Moved from AC 5” to (1) Pk  6” round /translucent.
