Tillandsias are bromeliads. They absorb water and nutrients thru the leaves not roots, and require no planting medium. Each plant only flowers once. After blooming the plants reproduce 1-8 offspring from the side of the mother. They can tolerate a large range of temperatures and withstand long periods without water. Hang them anywhere away from direct sun light. Varieties: 3/2013 - (1) Unknown 3/2014 - (10) Butzii, (5) Caput Medusa, Harrisii, (5) Xerographic x Brachycaulo 12/ 2015-(1)Funkiana mounted in cork slab. 12/2015 -(1) T. Intermedia (long rope of multi plants strong together) 3/2018 - (12) T.Tectorum

As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS: Bloom takes several weeks to develop, exhibiting a long colorful stem with weaving pattern. FRUIT AND SEED: propagate by separating clumps/ offsprings KEY FEATURES: leaves may turn colors prior to flowering. Each plant only flowers once and then goes to produce offsprings. If clump desire, do not separate new plants.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch These plants are commonly found in conservatories I have visited. Grown in combination with orchids.
