Potinara is an intergeneric hybrid in the Cattleya Alliance. It is a cross of four genera: Brassavola, Cattleya, Laelia, and Sophronitis.

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen
GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: bold
LIGHT: filtered light, medium. Most light tolerant of the species

WATER: Let dry between water well drained. 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in coarse chunks of fir or 
redwood bark and/or hardwood charcoal
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:   The very attractive tri-colored flowers are medium sized with a natural spread of 4 inches. Fuschia/red, yellow& orange. The tips of the petals are slightly curled back.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Arrived in 2.5” plastic pot with bark media.
January 2014: (1) 4” clay pot.
-Jan. 2015:(1) 6” wooden basket, doing well.
-Jan. 2016: (1)6” woodbasket, doing well, with skipe.
-Feb. 2017: (#1)WB 6”, in bloom with two flowers.
March 2019: (#2) arrived in 2.5” plastic pot. Mounted in CBT.
Jan. 2020: (#3) arrived in 2.5” plastic pot. Mounted on F8/top circle, midway backside.
Oct. 3, 2023: (#1) mounted @ WT/corked ~5 ft. high.
