As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS:Pink blossom with 5 petals and a long tail-like apendage at the lower base of lighter pink one. Before open the flower resembles a cherry with a stem.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES:Vanda type plant with fan like shape has abundant, clumps of flowers emerge from the plant’s base.

Plant received  bare-root. Placed in 4” plastic pot with Orchiata mix, many aerial roots.
-Mounted wood trellis D, (5X,2.5Y) inside 4”x4” wood basket (Dec. 31, 2012)
Trellis dismantel (April 2013), transfer plant to small basket.
-Second plant Feb. 2013. 2.5” plastic pot with bark. Moved to 6” cedar basket with Orchiata mix. Flower open (5/20/2013)
-January 2014: (2)  6” wooden baskets, one plant per basket. One one plant has flower thus far.
-July 2015: Added one plant in 4” woodbasket
-Jan. 2016: (2) 4” woodbaskets
-Feb. 2017: (1) WB 4”
