Dtps. = Doritis x Phalaenopsis


Doritaenopsis (Dtps.) are hybrids that exhibit all the desire trades of popular orchids, special durability of their blooms and  many color combinations.



Hybrid: 7655

HEIGHT X SPREAD: compact, head forming GROWTH RATE: Moderate TEXTURE: bold LIGHT: filtered light, only. WATER: moist but well drained, high humidity 60-70 %, treat as Phalaenopsis. SOIL: pot in bark medium. If mounted, always place pointing down to prevent crown rot.
As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS:surprise color. I have no idea, will see the blooms when they come. FRUIT AND SEED: N/A, propagate by division. KEY FEATURES:a small phalaenopsis shape.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch Plant received 2.5” sq. plastic pot with bark. Januray 2014: (1) 4” plastic pot. Aug. 2014:Re pot in 3.5” aircone pot. -Jan. 2015. Doing well. -August 2015: excess humidity and lack of air circulation (fan died during absence), plant rotted.
