Dendrobium culture.

Because there are some many different varieties with different requirements.

Parents:

Anucha Flare = white w/red splash

Thongchai Gold =  Yellow with red center

These den. are vigorous growers, do not require winter rest and they are constantly throwing out new growths.


Hybrid:# not included

As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS:White with a fushia center and lip. All petals show a faint tint of yellowish green around the edges. Edges sligthly ruffled. FRUIT AND SEED: N/A, propagate by division. KEY FEATURES: thick leaves on sturdy stems.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch Plant received in 2” plastic pot with small bark mix. Mounted on wood trellis D, (3X,5Y) at cross point. (Jan. 14, 2013) -Plant moved to a small pot when trellis was dismantelled spring 2013 -January 2014: (1) 4” aircone pot. Plant is doing very well and is now with spike. Water once per week, medium light. -First flower open 4/6/2014 -July 2014: re-pot in 4” wood basket. Jan. 2016:(1) 4” woodbasket, doing well. Feb. 2017: (1) WB 4”, doing great. Blooms often 2022: plant became infested with Boisduval Scale and will not clear/ recover with treatments./ Discarded.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: tall and narrow PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen GROWTH RATE: fast TEXTURE: bold LIGHT: lots of light but filtered. WATER: let dry between water high humidity 60-70 % SOIL: likes small pot relative to plant size. Top heavy. Large pot will slow growth.Well drain media or no media. Suitable for mounting.
