As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS:Huge classic lavender flowers. Spring blooming.Usually in sets of 2 blooms per stem. FRUIT AND SEED: N/A, propagate by division. KEY FEATURES:single long arrow shape leaf with elongated pseudobulbs.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch Plant received in 2 1/2” plastic pot with bark. -Mounted wood trellis C, (3X,2Y) at cross point (Dec. 31, 2012) -3/25/13 removed from trellis, placed in 2.5” plastic pot with Orchiata. -January 2014:(1) 4” clay pot -July 2014: moved to 6” wooden basket. -Jan. 2015: (1) 6” wooden basket doing well. Jan. 2016: doing well. -Feb. 2017: (#1) WB 6” -Feb. 8, 2018: First time blooming, large double flower with a second set coming out soon. -April 2018: (#2) arrived in 3” plastic pot with bark. Repot (#2) into 4” WBk. -March 2019: (#3) arrived in 2.5” plastic pot. Mounted on CBT/branch #2 -Oct. 2019: (#4) Mounted on CBT/branch #4. -July 2023:(#1) WB 6” divided, cleaned and treated due to boisduval scale infestation. -Sept. 2023: (#1=4 divisiones) Individual small pots doing well. 3 rounds of Orthene by months end to consider making 1 pot. -Oct.29, 2023: (#1 & #2 divs.) mounted on Wood Log /~1 ft. long. Nov.17, 2023:(#3& #4 divs) mounted on Wood Log. Log has all original #1 plant. TOTAL of (4) locations.
