A hybrid cross between:

Vanda Madame Rattana x Vanda Bangkok Blue.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: Fan shape PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen GROWTH RATE: Moderate TEXTURE: bold LIGHT: full filtered light. WATER: water recommended: once per week, more if hanging. Do not water until plant is nearly dry. high humidity 60-70 % SOIL: suitable for hanging basket in fast draining material such as bark. Water frequently if mounted with exposed roots.
As observed in Coastal NC. BLOOMS:white background with slash of purple all over as speckles and a thick color rim. FRUIT AND SEED: N/A, propagate by division. KEY FEATURES: plant shape simulates a fan 8”-10” high. Inflorescence stem emerges from the center with a spray of multiple flower.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch Plant received as a mature plant in 6” plastic pot with large bark chips. DO NOT REPOT for 30 days after received. -January 16, 2013 place plant in 8”x8” wooden basket with orchiata mix. Many long roots curled in plastic pot , I untangled and spread. Left small basket since healthy roots where woven into it, the long curled roots I do not know if they are functional to the plant. Hang basket in proximity to humidifier and high afternoon sun light. -First flower open August 15, 2013. Three blooms in one sike, the rest dried out. Perhaps too much heat, and not enough watering due to travel. -January 2014:(1) 8” wooden basket. Growing well, roots healthy. Water daily unless rain and cloudy, placed close to humidifier, plenty of sun. Jan. 2016: plant has deteriorated to the point of no return?? will consider replacing when I prove to myself that I can keep vandas healthy.
