Orchid-Paphiopedilum Spots Galore

Genus comprises about 60 species in the Asia tropics from southern India to New Guinea and the Philippines. They are known as “Lady’s slippers” because of their pouch like lips.  All Paphiopedilum have flowers of a similar plan. Lacking pseudobulbs, they prefer a moisture-retaining epiphytic compost and medium light levels.

Re-pot once per year.

BLOOMS:Dorsal spetal is white with green strip markings. Lateral petals are narrow and with slight curve outer, lime green with many large maroon spots. Maroon pouch. Late summer.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Keep in shade and moist at all times. Use weak strength fertilizer, less than other orchid varieties.
