An epiphytic orchid, with fleshy leaves up to  2.5 inches long in a flat fan array. Axillary racemes bear 1 to 4 bright yellow flowers with rusty-red markings throughout the year. Should be grown in epiphytic orchid potting mix. Requires filtered light, high humidity and regular misting in summer. Full light in winter. Also known as Oncidium pusillum


My plant obtained mounted.

SOIL: Pot in Orchid bark mix, does well mounted
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: Yellow flowers with maroon markings, not fragrant. Season spring, summer and fall. Flower is less than a 1/2-inch.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.

Plant received mounted in a 1”x5” wood piece on top of sphagnum moss attached firmly with fishing line. Plant is about 1”x1” with one tiny flower,about 1/4” size.

8/17/12 flower fully open and a second one forming.
10/08/12 third flower fully open. Flowers last about 1-2 weeks.
January 2014: this plant was very cute but I could not keep it alive. Not sure what it needed to be happy.
