Hot growing epiphyte in primary rain forests, mangrove swamps and moss forests as well as an occasional lithophyte on rocks from Papua & New Guinea and the Solomon Islands  at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters.

PLANT TYPE: Orchid -Evergreen

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: bold to medium
LIGHT: filtered light. Medium to high

WATER: moist but well  drained, 
high humidity 60-70 %

SOIL: Pot in Orchid bark mix
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: cream/ brown /maroon. Plant blooms from winter to early spring with around twenty 7.5 cm wide flowers.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: Intermediate to warm /hot temperatures.

Plant received in 2 1/2” pot with Orchid bark.
Mounted on Trellis C  with small backing of moss. July 26, 2012
Jan. 8, 2014: Plant not found. Died after trellis dismantel. Will try again this plant now that I know more how to treat it.
