Large plant of vandaceous growth habit grow on rocks or trees along the east coat of Madagascar, mauritius, Reunion and the Comoro Islands, and the coast of Tanzania and Kenya.

Thick leathery leaves are a light yellowish green. The long inflorescences bear flowers with apple green sepals and petals and a white lip on the upper side of the flower.

Note: A. ebur.var. superbum or comorense (not indicated)

SOIL: Pot in Orchid mix  or mount.
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: white with brown lavender markings. Fragrant. Summer-Fall

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A, propagate by  division.


KEY FEATURES: monopodial and epiphytic, plants are easy to grow once good roots have been established. Do well on bark and baskets.

Plant received in 2” pot. Repotted in 4” plastic pot with Orchid bark mix.
Keep in high light and average moist.

Jan. 8, 2014: plant not found. No longer, probably died after trellis dismanteled.
