Gymnocalycium baldianum is a dark green semi-flattened globular species with appressed spines along shallow ribs. Blooms in spring.

Flowers are 1.5” in diameter, can be white, light pink, red, hot pink or salmon.


Provide filtered light. Hardy to 20F degrees.


Water thoroughly when soil is dry.

KEY FEATURES: The flowers are beautiful open or close, lasting several days.

About 2” tall pant in a 2” pot with very dry soil and has 3 bloom shoots starting to grow.
Transfer plant to 4” clay pot with ability to hang pot.
First flowers open May 3, 2012. Second set of flowers May 28, 2012.
