Euphorbia pulcherrima “Polly’s Pink”

Poinsettia - Polly’s Pink

   ID#699

Long-lasting clusters of hot-pink flower bracts crown the upright, leafy stems of Polly’s Pink™ poinsettia from late fall into winter. It was raised from seed by plant breeder Ruth Kobayashi of Paul Ecke Ranch, Encinitas, California, in 2002.

Professional growers shade their plants at night starting around the autumnal equinox to ensure full bract coloration 6 to 8 weeks later. I take mine outdoors during summer and leave the plant to decide when to flower from natural light changes.

A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

Received on a 6” pot kept indoors during winter holidays.
-Trasplanted in clay pot and place outdoors in spring when danger of frost past. Heavy rains unfortunately rot the thin plant stem.

      Plant perish.

Other cultivars on same conditions survived the rains probably because they had been in sunnier conditions longer and developed a stronger thicker trunk.
