Avocado “Day” has a Type A flower. While avocado trees have both male and female organs in one flower.Type A will open the female part in the morning for 2-3 hrs.and the male pollen in the afternoon of the next day. (Ref: UofCavo)

Type B will do the opposite.

Fertilization of avocados is more likely if two trees Type A & B of similar season are in proximity.

“Day” is a semi-dwarf type of tree, good choice for a Glasshouse.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: green with smooth skin. Medium-sized tapered-neck shape. High productivity. Fruit weighs about 16 oz. and takes about 6 months to ripen.

    Having grown up in Mexico, I love to eat avocados and I’m determined to grow some although or climate is not suited for it. Now that I have a Glasshouse I will try what people refer to as “Condo” size trees. This winter has been the coldest here for us, the glasshouse has maintained temperature above 45F degrees.
