Semperflorens type of begonia is probably the most widely grown begonia and in some parts of the country is called "wax type" because of the waxy look to the leaves.

Mostly grown as annuals. My friends in Wisconsin had a nice basket growing. During my visit Oct. 2010 and been the end of their season I could not see this plant totally wasted, I asked for a snip. I can’t wait to see the flowers come summer.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 2 ft x 4 ft, trailing

PLANT TYPE:  Perennial shrub - tropical

GROWTH RATE: Moderate
TEXTURE: Medium, bold

LIGHT: part shade, filtered light. Can’t tolerate freeze

WATER: moist

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: Yellow clusters of small yellow blooms during summer, makes good hanging basket.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A


KEY FEATURES: Nice dark green foliage and clusters of flowers throughout the summer.
