Paula and I have exchange Day-lilies from our yards over the years.

In spite of having close to 50 different ones already, a new variety is always welcome.


I found a sunny spot for this one in one of the newest beds. As the trees planted grow my day-lilies find them selves among shade they did not have in previous years.

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 3 ft x 2 ft

PLANT TYPE: Semi- Evergreen

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: medium

LIGHT: full sun to part shade

SOIL: high Organic, average
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: 7 1/2 inch diameter in a dark maroon color with a green throat. Early, late mid season, repeated blooming. 36” tall stem

KEY FEATURES: A re-bloomer with a striking dark color that makes the center look luminescent.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

    A couple of blooms during the first season. I’m excited to see how much will expand next growing season.
