A short round evergreen that gets more golden if exposed to full sun.


The Lower Deck Bed has gotten a total makeover. The gardenias that were all along for more than 10 yrs. removed. The have gotten woody, legged and resented the wind and cold of winters.


The bed now features a array of evergreens, mainly needle type for a eclectic look

HEIGHT X SPREAD: 3 ft x 4 ft

PLANT TYPE: Conifer- evergreen shrub

GROWTH RATE: Slow, up to 1 ft. per year.

TEXTURE: fine
LIGHT: Full sun. The more sun, the more golden look.
WATER: Needs regular watering - weekly, or more often in extreme heat.
SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: does not flower


FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A


KEY FEATURES: A ground hugging mound that is truly mop-like, with stringy leaves, scale like that color best in full sun. Superior accent plant among other dwarf green conifers. The more sun the more yellow.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

    Two specimens placed at the north side of Lower Deck bed they are among holly and other dwarf conifers. The spot, full of afternoon sun should bring the gold color to a max.  Careful to provide enough water during summer months.
