Deciduous bush that grows in a vertical but unstructured shape. Grown for its colorful red seeds.

This plant was given to me by my long time friend and enthusiastic gardener Ginny Gough.

Ginny and I spent time together planting trees in public property near by her home. She left a legacy of trees to her home town Chestertown, MD

I had two plants, one died during Hurricane flood 2011.

PLANT TYPE: Deciduous

GROWTH RATE: Moderate

TEXTURE: medium

LIGHT: part shade to full sun

WATER: average

SOIL: high Organic
As observed in Coastal NC.

BLOOMS: blooms are small, grown for its colorful seeds.


FRUIT  AND  SEED: cutting root easily.


KEY FEATURES: irregular shape. Prune to desirable size. Colorful redish foliage in late fall

Hurricane flood august 2011 killed West yard plant, Original plant is alive but lost lots of branches.
