This plant provides a color accent at a low level from the ground.

It has the look of a spring bulb, however it flowers later in the season.


It will make a good color spot planted in large quantities. The foliage is thin and can be planted among larger plants.

BLOOMS: First blooms appear early - mid June and sometimes again in fall.  6 petal yellow bloom on a thin stem. Flower pen extends 2-3 inches diameter.

FRUIT  AND  SEED: N/A. Propagate by dividing bulbs.

KEY FEATURES: Fine greenery of thin blades with small flowers about 6 inches from the ground.
A year cycle in the life of ...... at Mooring Hitch

    A 8” container plant had many bulbs in it. I split the content into about 3 bunches and place them in the from-center of Bed #11.
-Plants are slowly multiplying.
-Nice display of flowers June 2012, un-affected by hurricane flood last august.
